In the Education Crisis in Chile and the events of last week, the Communist Youth of the University of Valparaiso, declare :

1. Our total support and backing for student demonstrations that are taking place throughout Chile for the recovery of public education against the reform aims to establish Sebastian's government Piñera thereby deepening the neoliberal model in education that led the agreement during his 20 years in office and that sparked the crisis in public universities.

2. The State's contribution to our universities is declining , funding is reduced at rates that do not even respond to the parameters of the OECD. Public universities are no longer sustainable, taking the brunt of the universities of the consortium of state universities.

3. student funding based only on the credit system only benefits the education entrepreneurs who indebted to the students by condemning them to pay almost double of his career.

4. The low involvement of the university community in most Chilean universities, both traditional and private, reduced to its simplest form the concept of democracy and political life. Participation in decision-making must be with the university community as a whole (government officials, academics and students) and not one-person authorities broad power without any oversight.

5. Democratization college happens to be not only involved in the decision-making but also to make access to college is more democratic and income equal to those who do not have the resources nor had the opportunity to receive quality education.

6. The student demonstrations around education not need only respond to a union of students, meet a social need, where workers are hurt the most is why, we call on all social organizations to participate more actively in repudiation of the various policies being implemented this government.

7. Lastly to present our total rejection of dam construction in Aysén and thus to the criminalization of social protest with the brutal repression of the security apparatus the state and prohibited the use of instruments worldwide and only used in our country.
